About this site
Making.sh/it is an independent publication launched in October 2022 by Adam Underkofler.
Making Shit
I have always loved taking things apart to see how they work since I was very young. That curiosity was further inspired by years of watching things like Star Wars and MythBusters. The otherworldly creativity mixed with an eagerness to find out the physics and realities of our own world had turned into a passion for creating and making things.
A New Commitment to Documentation
Adam Savage has obviously been a huge role model, not only because we share first names, but because of his prolific work with Jamie Hyneman on MythBusters as well as working on the prequel Star Wars movies that I was obsessed with as a kid. But Adam said it best: "Remember kids the only difference between screwing around and science is writing it down."
I have been terrible at remembering to write things down. After finishing something I would realize I didn't take any photos or write any notes along the way. This always frustrated me, but I kept falling into the trap without ever changing.
Until Now
I made this website to be my archive of projects, things I make, failures, successes, random crap I'm proud of, so that I can finally look back and reference, reminisce, and remember everything that makes me a maker.
